This was a good break from the regular pizza outlets with the same old ambience. If you are looking for some good Italian restaurant in Bangalore (Bengaluru), Onesta is one such place to be in.
The Restaurant – Let’s be ‘Onesta’ (‘Honest’ in Italian)
Located in a quiet neighbourhood, Onesta is a rooftop Italian restaurant in Bangalore’s Yelahanka region. Unexpectedly, the space is really vast, very open with a high roof and live plants to add to the aura. The wrought iron tables and chairs were neatly arranged at comfortable distances from the others. The place has a nice Italian feel to it.
A large work counter has the chefs carry out their tasks comfortably. Enough natural light fills the restaurant adding a positive impression.
A pastry counter at the entrance makes a nice treat for your eyes. Loaded with tempting sweet and savoury pastries, you will surely want to grab a few before you leave.

Delights at Onesta, An Italian Restaurant in Bangalore
Compliments of the house – pizza crust bakes with a mayo-sauce dip. Not complaining, but for just my 10-year-old and myself, it seemed a bit too much. For a bunch of friends, this would have been nice.
All items on the menu seemed interesting. If you have a good appetite, you must try out the buffet laid out in vegan and non-vegan.
Our order consisted of Barbeque Thin Crust Pizza, Cherry Cheese Cake slice and a Green Apple Virgin Mojito.
Besides being a little too sweet for my taste, the pizza was nicely baked with enough fresh toppings. However, the cheese was very limited. If you are looking for overflowing cheese toppings, make sure you ask for it. I was ok with the amount of cheese on my pizza (less to be guilty about).
Cherry Cheese Cake was a little dry, while taste wise it was quite satisfying.
Green Apple Virgin Mojito was a large glass of lemonade with lots of mint leaves and ice. I couldn’t taste the green apple flavour though.
Overall, the food was nice. There is still so much more to taste and so little space in my tummy to fit them all at once.
The Staff – A Special Mention
What makes or breaks a restaurant is not just its food and ambience, in fact, the staff is equally responsible. The staff at this Italian restaurant in Bangalore made us feel comfortable throughout our time here. They seemed really committed to making a positive impact on their customers with their courtesy and service. Above all, they did not accept a tip as it was against their policy. One of them said to me, “You must come back here and that would be our tip”. Not all Italian restaurants in Bangalore serve you with this kind of courtesy and integrity. Damn! I missed clicking a picture of the staff.
Surely an experience I won’t forget and therefore, I am definitely going back. Next time, I intend to try out the delicious-looking Bacon Wrapped Prawns, Chicken Lasagna, the lovely pastries and of course, be treated with a service filled with positivity.
